KIRTAN

Many people use yoga to relax, strengthen and tone the body, but few people have a such a healthy activity for their mind.  Fortunately, there is a very simple way of calming the mind and freeing it from anxiety in the same way that yoga is used for the body.  In a form of musical meditation known as “Kirtan”, ancient mantras (literally “that which frees the mind”) are used to bring the mind to rest.

Kirtan is a live music meditation, a collective call and response that incorporates these mantras, our voices, and a variety of instruments. All are welcomed, as anyone can experience the clarity and exquisite happiness that come from Kirtan, regardless of musical talent! Participants can sit back and relax, or get up and dance. At the end of the Kirtan, a delicious vegan meal will be served, leaving everyone invigorated in body and peaceful at heart.
