As the old song goes,
‘Hey, everybody, let’s have some fun
You only live but once
And when you’re dead you’re done
So let the good times roll
Let the good times roll
I don’t care if you’re young or old
Get together, let the good times roll’
‘Take the moment and grab it while you can! With not a second to spare, enjoy as much as you possibly can, and have yourself a good ol’ time.’
We all experience those moments that we never want to end. Those exceedingly special times occupy our minds and we constantly relish those fond memories, striving to recreate those pleasing, happy situations. This conception of enjoyment determines our idea of what life is meant for – enjoying those moments while they last. We take whatever consequences and distress might come along with our moments of happiness as natural, worth-it, a part of life. But do we ever stop to think about whether there is a higher standard of pleasure? Whether there is something in this world, or beyond it, that grants the everlasting pleasure we seek? Might we sometimes tire of the same old, same old?
Join us for an evening of thought-provoking discussion, meditation, and, of course, a delicious vegan feast!
