23aug(aug 23)6:00 pm(aug 23)6:00 pmWEDNESDAY - Sustainability Circle: "Playing God": Technology to Save the Planet

Event Details

As the Earth rebels against the self-destructive nature of contemporary human society, scientists are scrambling to discover a technological solution for preventing the predicted “dooms day” brought about by climate change. Faced with this prediction, the great minds of the world have turned to science – technologies such as geo-engineering, factory-grown meat, and genetically modified organisms – to provide a solution.

Yet, is there a limit to the role of science in creating a sustainable future, in changing the course of climate change? Are there boundaries we should not cross? This is the discussion taking place behind closed doors – so join us for an evening of bringing it out in the open 🙂 Explore the brilliance and limitations of human endeavor, and the wisdom the ancient yoga texts can shed on this phenomenon of “God-like” technologies.
